China’s Influence
Black and White Cat blogged an interesting report from BBC’s recent World Service Poll. The poll measures public’s views on the influence (both positive and negative) of various countries.
- As expected, America reckons China has a negative influence.
- Australia seems to be pro-China based on the survey with majority of Australian think China has a positive influence in the world. I suppose this is largely related to the fact that - the current booming Australian economy is primarily driven by China’s demand of Australian resources.
- I would have been a little surprised that Germany was so anti-China. But after the Tibet riots and German media coverage, I’m not surprised at all.
- Among all the countries being surveyed, Japan tops the list in terms of percentage of people believing that China has a negative influence.
